Thriving Communities Regional Pilot Program (TCP-R)

DOT&PF has conducted outreach to disadvantaged communities that have potential as Regional Planning Organizations (RPOs) and/or that have submitted potential transportation projects. The following communities have provided letters of commitment:
- Aleknagik,
- Bristol Bay Borough,
- Chevak,
- Chignik Lagoon,
- Copper Valley, Cordova,
- Deltana, Eklutna,
- Fort Yukon,
- Gustavus,
- Iliamna,
- Lake and Peninsula Borough,
- Manokotak,
- Metlakatla,
- Nunapitchuk,
- Petersburg,
- Wrangell, and
- Yakutat.
Alaska’s TCP-R program will
increase the technical assistance provided to communities for submission of transportation projects through the Alaska Transportation Hub,
review projects for additional pre-development and for matching with federal and state funding opportunities, and
assist communities with grant applications that support disadvantaged communities. The project team will develop tools and resources that support interdisciplinary delivery of projects, accelerate peer learning, and further identify and cultivate Alaska technical expertise.
Thriving Communities Regional Pilot Program
(TCP-R)
The Thriving Communities Program (TCP) provides intensive technical assistance to under-resourced and disadvantaged communities to help them identify, develop, and deliver transportation and community revitalization opportunities.
Selected applicants will receive $1-2 million over 3 years to provide technical assistance, planning, and capacity building support and peer learning opportunities to communities located within their own jurisdiction or service area and selected by the applicant.
