Alaska Shared Project Experience and Community Transportation System (Grant Overview)
Application for the Accelerated Innovation Deployment (AID) Demonstration Grant Program
Total Project Cost: $1,250,038
Federal Request: $1,000,000
State Match: $250,038
The Alaska Shared Project Experience and Community Transportation System (ASPECTS) will bridge system and data gaps and help DOT&PF develop a data integration method for program development, communication, planning, design, construction, and maintenance operations. The goal of this project is to empower all Alaskans through the integration and advancement of digital innovations for Alaska’s multimodal transportation and transit system. ASPECTS involves a comprehensive approach that will include data management, analysis, training for staff, and risk management.
Integrating these systems holds the promise of significant benefits, including:
- Enhanced Information Sharing: DOT&PF is committed to breaking down silos to ensure stakeholders can seamlessly access data throughout various project phases, including fostering interdepartmental access and utilization.
- Reduced Redundancy: ASPECTS allows DOT&PF to work toward preventing duplicate data collection across separate systems to curtail costs and operational inefficiencies.
- Safety, Environmental, and Economic Advantages: Minimized data collection efforts translate to fewer field visits, promoting safety, reducing environmental impacts, and enhancing economic efficiency.
- Cultural Transformation: Embracing an interconnected data-driven ethos propels DOT&PF to lead in technological adoption, fostering workforce development, improving job quality, and driving wealth creation.
