Route 17 - Gloucester County
Route 17 - Gloucester County
The purpose of this study will be to analyze the safety and operational issues identified along Route 17 from Featherbed Lane to Guinea Road with a focus on providing safety improvements, preserving capacity (to keep traffic flowing smoothly), and enhanced bicycle and transit access. Currently, there are no existing bicycle facilities along the corridor and microtransit services. Route 17 is a Corridor of Statewide Significance (CoSS) serving local residents, regional commuters, vacationers, and is also an emergency evacuation route. The objective of this study is to identify cost-effective preferred improvement alternatives that address the documented needs.
Project Pipeline is a performance-based planning program to identify cost-effective solutions to multimodal transportation needs in Virginia.
