Village of Fairport's Zoning Code Update
Village of Fairport's Zoning Code Update
With GTC's support of federal planning funds, the Village of Fairport, Monroe County, is updating its zoning code and map to align with its Comprehensive Plan to strengthen walkability, traffic circulation, safety and the character of the village with an emphasis on multi-modal transportation options. The updated, character-based code will provide more choice and expand the opportunities for not only travel, but economic development and housing. Visit the project webpage on the Village's website for more information.
This project is Task No. 7801 listed in the 2024-2025 Unified Planning Work Program. Contact Joe Bovenzi, Deputy Director for Administration and Operations for more information about GTC's role in this planning project by emailing him at jbovenzi@gtcmpo.org or calling his voicemail box at (585) 232-6240 x216.

We value the tree-lined walkable streets and historic architecture. The picturesque Erie Canal is a famed landmark and heart of the Village; essential to economic and residential development, while drawing visitors for leisure opportunities. Quality services and municipal public power are attractions for residents and businesses to Fairport.
Moving forward, the Village will endeavor to achieve a quality of life that is equitable for residents, businesses and any who wish to be a part of the Fairport community.
