Burlington-Graham MPO: Regional Impact Project Prioritization
Introduction: Prioritization is a biennial process where transportation projects from each planning area compete for state and federal funding across North Carolina. Projects are funded at three levels: (1) Statewide Mobility; (2) Regional Impact; and (3) Division Needs. Statewide Mobility project selection is complete. In the Burlington-Graham , two (2) projects were picked up for funding in the 2028-2037 State Transportation Improvement Program (STIP).
Regional Impact project selection is now underway. For this first round, known as Regional Impact Project Point Assignment, the Burlington-Graham Metropolitan Planning Organization (BGMPO) wants to know how you would prioritize 24 regionally significant highway, rail, and transit projects across our planning area. Additional highway, rail, transit, bicycle and pedestrian, and aviation projects will be considered at the Division Needs level in the Fall.

Point Allocation – Burlington- Graham MPO can assign up to 1,400 points toward projects in our region. This activity asks you how you would allocate points (or in this case, dollars) across the 24 projects under consideration today.
Allocating funding acoss all projects is noble. Realistically, only a few of our projects will be finded. Allocating larger amounts to your highest priority projects may assist with determining which projects move forward.
