Project Pipeline is a performace-based program to identify cost-effective solutions to multimodal transportation needs in Virginia. Through this planning process, projects and solutions may be considered for funding through programs, including SMART SCALE, revenue sharing, and others.

Background

The purpose of this study is to identify project recommendations for the Route 40 (Tanyard Road/Old Franklin Turnpike) corridor from Pell Avenue to School Board Road  /Market Place Drive with a focus on improving roadway safety. The project recommendations that come from this study will be developed into funding applications for VDOT's SMART SCALE program and other transportation funding programs. 

This Phase 2 survey is intended to obtain public input on the alternatives under consideration to address the issues that were identified by the study team and through the Phase 1 survey that was conducted in August 2023.
