Napaskiak Operations Summary
1/13/26
- WTP still inoperable. Brice has ordered parts to fix WTP. Parts expected in roughly two weeks. WTP hoping to be back operable by end of month.
1/6/26
Daily Activities
- S1E14: Identified leak and separation at doghouse connection.
- S3E9: Dug out, leveled, and reconnected plumbing and heat trace.
- S3W1, 2, 5, 7, 27: Confirmed complete operation of doghouses.
- S3W4: Demo completed; plumbing and heat trace reconnected. Awaiting insulation and cladding materials.
- S3W6, 7: Doghouses moved; plumbing integrity compromised. Disassembled and prepped for reconnection, awaiting materials.
- S3W10: Removed broken PVC connection; prepped for reconnection. Awaiting materials for plumbing and wiring repairs.
- S3W18: Plumbing broken; doghouse floated away.
- S3W27: Discovered broken doghouse connection; awaiting parts.
- Buildings 3, 6, 8: No response from occupants.
- Building 11, 17, 19, 20: Non-functional prior to storm event.
- Building 15: Awaiting requested materials.
- Building 18: Access denied by occupant.
- A total of 4 HRC team members are currently on-site.
12/28/25

- Transported lumber from Bethel to Napaskiak.

- Boilers are out but they are running on a space heater.
12/24/25
- Brice crew of 2 performed walk thru with current operator of water treatment plant, Nelson and Bob White (ANTHC) They were able to identify which components were out of service prior to the freeze up. Crew continues to build list of parts necessary to repair system vs quote for new plant.
12/22/25
- Brice Plumbing crew was able to get the boiler back up and running to provide continuous heat in the water treatment plant. They continue their evaluations as for full extent of damages.
Daily Activities
- Buildings 1–9, 10–13, 14–18, 19–23: Electricians tested and connected power at doghouses, verified heating elements, and inspected connections.
- Building 8: Electricians extended power to the doghouse (previously activated on 12/20/2025).
- Buildings 1–17: Electricians tested power, confirmed connections, and verified occupancy.
- Buildings 18–19: Electricians investigated power issues at doghouses; carpenters prepared material lists for each building.
- Buildings 1–8, 17–21, 23, 26–27: Electricians rewired or energized heating elements at doghouses 17–21 and 23; carpenters checked connections and occupancy.
- Building 23: Hooch set up and heated for reconnection; electricians powered up heat trace.
- A total of 8 UICC team members are currently on-site.
12/21/25
- Brice has two plumbers working on the Water Treatment Plant to see what repairs are needed, and what could possibly be done to bring it back on line, even temporarily. Will work thru holiday break.
12/17/25
- Brice has skirted in the well house with plywood and is currently thawing out the facility to fully assess damage.
- Making preparations to install a temp pumping system for non-potable water from the river for the community use.

- Putting together quantity take offs for newly found boardwalk repairs requested by Napaskiak Village.

Daily Activities
- Meeting at tribal office with maintenance manager, water plant operator, and store owner.
- Made on-site assessments with the electrician and plans for their parts orders.
- Assessed and repaired an electrical issue in another house for UIC employees and contractors to stay in while we are here.
- Mapped and divided the village into three sections; began numbering houses within each area.
- Sent teams to assess individual home's needs.
- Village lost power; crew was transported to Bethel due to the lack of electricity and heat.

- Currently working through limited housing options. We were told there was no availability at the school or teacher housing. A village elder has apparently agreed to temporarily move-in with her grandchild to rent out her home to UICC.

- Temporary protections (sandbags/shoring) in place; ready to move from planning to action.
- Knik secured equipment and a gravel source in Napakiak; airport access road repairs underway.
