Route 16 Bridge Replacement Tazewell

Route 16 Bridge Replacement Tazewell

The primary purpose of this project is to improve safety by completing a bridge replacement on Route 16 (Fairground Road) across the Clinch River in the Town of Tazewell.

The project includes replacing the existing 22-foot-wide, two-lane, double-span structure with a 30-foot-wide, two-lane, single-span structure.

During construction, to safely complete the bridge replacement, the road at the bridge location will be closed, and a temporary detour will be in place.

This area sees approximately 2,485 vehicles per day.

Construction is anticipated to begin in Late 2028.

The project cost is approximately $8.44 million.
