Daily Activities

• #N01: Replace section of damaged flooring; install exterior porch door.
• #N02: Reframe exterior door opening to enlarge; hang exterior door. 
• #N32: Position pressure-treated lumber beneath structure and perform additional lift. 
• Camp: Insulate bathroom drain lines with vapor barrier and batt insulation; remove broken kitchen drain; patch multiple sections of drainpipe. 
• Total of 9 team members are currently on-site including 3 local hires. 

1/8/26

Daily Activities

• #N01: Installed new interior trim around floor, corners, and ceiling (approximately 80% complete).
• #N02: Finished painting interior.  Started installing vinyl plank flooring (one row completed).
• #N03: Installed new vinyl plank flooring (approximately 60% complete).
• #N27: Installed new interior finish plywood. 
• Total of 11 team members are currently on-site including 2 local hire.

Daily Activities

• House #N01: Began installation of vinyl plank flooring 
• House #N03: Completed interior painting; initiated vinyl plank flooring installation 
• House #N32: Gathered cribbing and prepared for house lifting; work paused due to storm. 
• Runway Maintenance: Continued maintaining access road and runway for accessibility. 
• Total of 10 team members are currently on-site including 1 local hire.

Daily Activities

• House #N03: Painting continues on ceilings and walls; approximately 50% complete.  Porch has been lifted to its final height. 
• House #N27: Installing blocking in the ceiling to support plywood nailers.  Installing insulation on walls and ceiling.  Beginning installation of plywood on the ceiling; about 50% complete.   
• General Updates: Power outage occurred at 2:00 PM due to generator failure. 
• A Toyo monitor is being powered with a portable generator.  Frost fighter heater is operating to maintain heat in the camp. 
• Total of 12 team members are currently on-site.

Daily Activities

• House #N33: Moved frost fighter heater to begin thawing dog box and corner pads that need replacing.  Continue building pads for this unit. 
• House #N31: Hauled all super sacks away from building. 
• House #N01: Completed ceiling painting. Fueled up the house. 
• House #N02: Fueled up house. 
• General Tasks: Hauled cribbing from other units, made repairs to broken air bag valves. 
• Total of 5 team members are currently on-site.

Daily Activities

• House #N27: Finished installing plywood for the roof.  
• House #N31: Completed plywood installation underneath the house.  
• House #N33: Hauled all cribbing needed to begin jacking up and leveling the house. 
• Total of 6 team members are currently on-site: 5 from HRC and 1 local hire. 

12/22/25

Daily Activities

• House #N03: Completed reinstalling electrical conduit in bathroom to original state.  Installed seven ⅜" AC plywood panels. 
• House #N04: Inspected home; house will be removed from demolition list. 
• House #N18: Cleaned up debris using skid steer and super sacks. 
• House #N27: Completed truss assembly and full framing.  Continued framing for window installation and placed insulation within the framed section. Began ceiling insulation, installed sheetrock backers, and initiated framing of the interior wall from trailer roof to ceiling. 
• House #N30: Finished installing 2" R-Tech foam board and ½" CDX plywood. 
• House #N31: Completed jacking up the house to required height for Hauled additional sheets of 2" R-Tech foam board and installed = 100% complete.  Installed ½" CDX plywood underneath = 90% complete. 
• Total of 10 team members are currently on-site: 7 from HRC and 3 local hires.

Daily Activities

• House #N02: Primed interior. Removed trash and debris. 
• House #N14: Probed the floor and inspected insulation (confirmed dry). 
• House #N19: Completed installation of 2' R-tech foam. 
• House #N27: Finished roof framing and roof sheeting. Installed gable and eave fascia. Installed two windows. Started framing a future wall. Installed plywood on one gable end (100%) and front gable (50%). Set up frost fighter to thaw unit. 
• House #N30: Removed frost fighter to allow mud to harden. Hauled insulation. Began insulating with 3 bags of R-38 batt insulation and 9 sheets of 2' foam board. 
• House #N31: Performed four lifts using bottle jacks and airbags to safely lift unit. 
• Total of 14 team members are currently on-site: 7 from HRC and 7 local hires.

• Horizontal Work Complete.
• Man camp for Vertical Contractor operational.

12/8/2025

Daily Activities

• House N-01 to N-03: Delivered new Toyo monitors. Will begin building new fuel stands and installing 55-gallon fuel tanks as requested by homeowners. 
• House N-03: Removed wet insulation and plywood from the interior. Re-framed several window openings to accommodate larger windows. Barricaded the exterior with plywood and reinforced vis queen. Heating will begin once wind conditions improve. 
• Site-wide: Began cutting additional lumber for permanent foundation materials. 
• Wind is stronger than previous days, delaying drying operations. 
• Total of 10 team members are currently on-site: four from HRC and six local hires.

Daily Activities

• Interior insulation and plywood removal underway at house N-03.
• Significant snow clearing was required to access work areas in town. 
• High winds prompted crews to black off the exterior of homes using plywood and reinforced vis queen to allow safe work underneath.
• Electrical systems in the homes (built in the 1970s) are outdated - HRC is proposing to run conduit and rewire entire houses. 
• Awaiting update on 2" R-Max foam board needed for under-house insulation. 
• Total of seven team members currently on-site: four from HRC and three local hires (some crew still delayed in Bethel). 

12/3/2025

Daily Activities

• House N-02: Put up interior finish plywood, finished installing the vapor barrier, framed the bathroom partition, and repaired sections of rotten plywood on the floor. 
• Efforts continue to keep the runway access road, ramp, and runway open throughout the day to ensure continued access and operations. 
• HRC will be inspecting/assessing sewer line from school to sewage lagoon per LKSD request. 
• A total of nine team members are currently on-site.

Daily Activities

• There was an active shooter type situation involving someone traveling from Toksook Bay to Nightmute last night, suspect was holed up in a house in Nightmute. Nightmute was on lockdown throughout the incident inhibiting work. 
• House N-01: Finished flooring. 
• House N-02: Prepped walls for insulation and vapor barrier. Installed insulation and plywood underneath the house. 
• House N-03: Ran frost fighter all day to dry the floor. Wrapped the bottom of the house with reinforced Vis queen. 
• A total of 7 team members are currently on-site.

Daily Activities

• House N-01: Completed underfloor insulation, installed R-Tech foam board, began plywood backing installation, and performed interior prep including priming, wall prep, floor cleaning, and material consolidation. 
• Transported garbage and debris to the new dump site. 
• Unloaded materials from the DC-3 aircraft. 
• A total of 10 team members are currently on-site.

Daily Activities 

• House N-01 - Utilized frost fighter heat inside the house and stapled reinforced poly around any openings. 
• House N-03 - Drying the inside of the house, pulling up wet flooring, and preparing for framing. 
• House N-10 - Removed flooring, foam, and plywood throughout the house. Finished cutting the interior walls, removed all interior and floor insulation, and cleared out all debris. 
• Worked on grading the airstrip. 
• A total of 11 employees working on-site: HRC - 4, Local - 7. 

11/15/2025

Daily Activities

• Interior renovation prep began for House N-01: Materials were moved inside and cribbing and gravel work continued throughout the day. The house is approximately 75% dry with an air heater in use. Coordination with AVAC is underway for power restoration on the lower boardwalk. 
• Interior renovation is underway for House N-02. 
• Hauling cribbing, fuel, and gravel to House N-01 and House N-02. 
• For House N-10, removing the plywood and insulation under the house. The galvanized nails made it challenging to remove. 
• A total of 3 HRC team members are currently on-site. Local Workers: 7.

Completed Work:

• Foundation work has been completed, including repairs to several beams.
• One house was lifted an additional 1 foot; debris was cleared from underneath, and the water level beneath it is approximately 2 feet deep.
• A meeting was held with local leadership and the Tribe to explore the option of renting a local house for residents during construction.
• No Change: Horizontal work complete. Man camp for Vertical Contractor is operational. 

Plan Forward:

• Continue foundation work on the lifted house, which requires a significant amount of gravel and additional cleanup.
• Begin compiling a materials list for interior finishes such as flooring, doors, trims, and appliances.
• Continue work on foundation pads for another house.
• A shipping reminder was sent regarding a Toyo stove.

• No Change: Horizontal work complete.
• HRC began building foundation pads out of treated lumber for house N-01.
• First 4' of surface material and insulation was removed from the interior walls in house N-02.
• House N-25 was lifted another foot and had debris removed from underneath the house so plywood and insulation could be removed.
• HRC issued a TWA to support DOT&PF with emergency clearing and restoration of the Nightmute runway, apron, and runway access road to re-establish safe aviation. operations and essential community connectivity.
