Welcome to the Virginia Department of Transportation's (VDOT) design public hearing for the Norris Bridge Replacement Project.  The Norris Bridge Replacement Project will provide a modern, long-term river crossing that meets current design standards, addresses ongoing maintenance needs, supports regional economic growth and improves traffic operations through 2058. The new bridge will be constructed upstream of the existing bridge, which will remain open to traffic throughout construction. The proposed bridge will feature wider shoulders and a higher reinforced concrete safety barrier along each side of the bridge.
