'26-'30 Transportation Improvement Program
'26-'30 Transportation Improvement Program
The Transportation Improvement Program (TIP) identifies the timing and funding of all highway, bridge, transit, bicycle, pedestrian, and other surface transportation projects scheduled for implementation over a minimum of four years that use federal transportation funds. The TIP reflects the priorities and direction of the region and its state and federal partners in the transportation planning process. The TIP and the projects it contain must be consistent with the goals and objectives identified in the current Long-Range Transportation Plan 2045.
The TIP is part of this region’s planning process as required by the federal government for the receipt of federal transportation funding. The federal government requires that the TIP be updated at least every four years and adopted by the Metropolitan Planning Organization (MPO) – in this region, the Genesee Transportation Council.
The TIP development process involves only projects eligible for federal aid. However, the TIP document may include, for informational purposes, non-federally funded transportation projects occurring in the TIP Area.
The Genesee Transportation Council (GTC) and the New York State Department of Transportation – Region 4 (NYSDOT-4) are kicking off the next update of the Transportation Improvement Program, also known as the TIP.
This region’s TIP is developed cooperatively by a team led by the GTC staff and NYSDOT-4 staff. The TIP includes projects in Genesee, Livingston, Monroe, Ontario, Orleans, Wayne and Wyoming counties.
On November 4, GTC and NYSDOT Region 4 will be issuing a Call for Project applications seeking transportation infrastructure project applications to be supported with Federal transportation funds. The deadline to submit applications will be December 20, 2024.
Save the date! On Thursday, November 21 from 1 to 3 p.m. we will conduct an online sponsor workshop and application training system featuring EcoInteractive, an online system to manage the TIP.
GTC and NYSDOT-4 will send another email and a postcard to eligible municipalities and agencies to formally request project applications. Information will also be posted here, on the GTC Engagement Hub, www.publicinput.com/GTCTIP2030.
