Haddonfield has a beautiful and thriving downtown. The Covid-19 pandemic has accelerated shifts in how people shop, dine, and work, with an ever-evolving hybrid of activities occurring in-person and virtually. We want to determine proactive steps that that the Borough can take to make the downtown become more resilient to short-term challenges and adapt to long-term trends.

We want to dig deeper into the economic wellbeing of the downtown, while also considering its unique social and civic value. What makes the downtown so unique (what indicators support this? Turnover rate, occupancy rate, etc.)?
What is an appropriate mix of uses that will enhance the downtown? Can the downtown better integrate with the residential areas of the Borough? Can more “transit-oriented development” encourage greater integration between the train station and downtown?
