Augustine Cut Off Bicycle & Pedestrian Network Improvements - Engineering Design
DelDOT is moving forward with the scope of work outlined in the Augustine Cut Off Bicycle and Pedestrian Network Improvements Study, which documents the concept design for bicycle and pedestrian improvements along Augustine Cut Off from Lovering Avenue through Cantera Road.
DelDOT is advancing the engineering design for this project with Whitman, Requardt & Associates, LLP (WRA). Topographic and Right of Way Survey will be collected in the month of July, scheduled to begin the week of July 15th. A full project schedule is available below.
This scope of the project includes the following:
The reconstruction of the Lovering Avenue and Augustine Cut Off intersection to add pedestrian crossings, new pedestrian signal heads, and calm traffic
The construction of a shared-use use pathway along eastbound Lovering Avenue from DuPont Street to Augustine Cut Off
The construction of a shared-use pathway and a two-way protected bike lane along southbound Augustine Cut Off from Lovering Avenue to the frontage pathway in front of the Incyte Building
The construction of a shared-use pathway along westbound Wawaset Street and northbound N. Scott Street to connect Augustine Cut Off to South Park Drive and Brandywine Park
The construction of segments of sidewalk along the northbound side of Augustine Cut Off between W 18th Street and Stone Hill Road
The reconfiguration of pavement markings to provide continuous on-road bike lanes between W 18th Street and just north of Cantera Avenue
The addition of a shoulder on the northbound side of Augustine Cut Off, just north of Cantera Avenue, for approximately 150’ to provide a continuous bike lane in the shoulder
Note: No pathway improvements are currently moving forward north of Cantera Avenue
