The Department of Local Services is like a city hall for the unincorporated parts of King County. These areas include Skyway, White Center, the Snoqualmie Valley, greater Maple Valley, the Enumclaw Plateau, Fairwood, Northwest King County, and Vashon Island—with a combined area larger than the state of Rhode Island and some 250,000 residents.
