2025 Elliott West Upgrade Online Open House
2025 Elliott West Upgrade Online Open House
King County Wastewater Treatment Division is planning to make improvements to the Elliott West Wet Weather Treatment Station or EWWTS. Since 2005, EWWTS has helped keep Elliott Bay cleaner by treating stormwater and wastewater during wet weather. It removes solids and disinfects the polluted water to protect water quality in the bay. If EWWTS was not in operation, these pollutants would enter Elliott Bay in what is called a Combined Sewer Overflow or CSO. There are many CSO outfall locations throughout Seattle. CSOs are explained further in the Overview section.
Now, new rules from the Washington State Department of Ecology require upgrades at the station. These changes will help the station meet updated water quality standards and continue to protect Elliott Bay from pollution in the future.

Share your feedback on the EWWTS design elements
This online open house presents details about various design elements for the upgraded EWWTS. Upgrades have been developed in response to feedback and recommendations received from the community. We invite feedback from those who live, work, or engage in activities within the project area. We will review and consider all feedback as we work to finalize our facility design.
We invite you to share your thoughts on the six design elements included in this online open house:
- Landscape architecture (such as trees and other natural features)
- Lighting
- Overall architectural theme
- East exterior of the building
- West exterior of the building
- Art
You don’t need to be an expert to participate. We want to hear from everyone who is interested in this project. To share your feedback on design elements, please answer the questions found on the bottom of the page.
- Note: not every design element includes community feedback.
- Use the "continue" button below to advance to the next tab. To go back to a previous page, use the menu at the top of the page.
