Downtown Planter Program
Downtown Planter Program
The Downtown Planter Program is a seasonal initiative managed by the Cheyenne Downtown Development Authority (DDA) to enhance the vibrancy and visual appeal of Downtown Cheyenne. Each year, the DDA contracts with local professionals to plant, install, and maintain high-quality floral displays throughout the Downtown District.
About the Project
Through this program, the Cheyenne Downtown Development Authority (DDA) fulfills its mission of supporting economic growth, reflecting Downtown Cheyenne’s character and history, and fostering a vibrant and resilient downtown for years to come.
By adding seasonal color, greenery, and high-quality floral displays throughout Cheyenne’s Downtown District, the Downtown Planter Program:
- Prevents deterioration and blight by investing in public spaces and maintaining a clean, attractive environment that benefits the entire community
- Enhances the visual appeal and experience of Downtown Cheyenne, creating an inviting environment for residents and visitors alike
- Strengthens community pride and connection by showcasing the Downtown District as a vibrant, cared-for place
- Honors Cheyenne’s heritage and character, complementing the historic charm of the Downtown District while reinforcing a sense of place
- Adds traffic calming
Long-term plans for the program include expanding to the West Edge and Southern Corridor of the Downtown District, as well as redistributing planters throughout the District based on pedestrian activity, development patterns, and efficient use of DDA resources.
