Fats, Oil and Grease Holiday Drop-Off Program

Virginia Beach Public Utilities is gauging public interest in drop-off locations for large quantities of fats, oil, and grease. The drop-off locations would be available the week after Thanksgiving, providing residents with an easy way to ensure their fats, oil, and grease is properly disposed of after deep-frying a turkey or other holiday cooking. Improper disposal methods, such as pouring fats, oil, and grease down the drain or in your yard, harm your private drains, our infrastructure and the environment.

Public Utilities will use the results of this survey to determine if this would be a viable program for Virginia Beach residents. Drop-off locations will be determined based on the results of this survey. Further program details will be advertised on our website and social media.

*Please note that drop-off locations would only be available for residential quantities of fats, oil, and grease and would NOT be available for drop-offs from commercial businesses.
