Project Pipeline is a performance-based planning program to identify cost-effective solutions to multimodal transportation needs in Virginia. Through this planning process, projects and solutions may be considered for funding through programs, including SMART SCALE, revenue sharing, interstate funding and others.

Study Partners:

  • Loudoun County
  • Northern Virginia Transportation Authority (NVTA)
  • Michael Baker International

Background

The purpose of this study is to identify project recommendations for the Arcola Mills Drive (Route 621)  corridor from Stone Springs Boulevard (Route 659)  to Loudoun County Parkway (Route 606)  in Loudoun County. This study will focus on improving safety, mitigating congestion, multimodal accessibility/connectivity (bicycle, pedestrian and transit), and Transportation Demand Management (TDM). The project recommendations that come from this study could be developed into funding applications for VDOT's SMART SCALE program or other transportation funding programs should the locality choose to pursue funding.

This Phase 2 survey is intended to obtain public input on the alternatives under consideration to address the issues that were identified by the study team.
