Background
The purpose of this study is to identify project recommendations for the Roberts Parkway corridor from Route 286 (Fairfax County Parkway) to Route 643 (Burke Centre Parkway) in Fairfax County. This study will focus on improving roadway and pedestrian safety, preserving capacity (to keep traffic flowing smoothly), enhancing multimodal accessibility/connectivity (bicycle, pedestrian, and transit), and Transportation Demand Management (TDM) needs. This study will also evaluate potential impacts of the changes at Fairfax County Parkway and Burke Centre Parkway on Roberts Parkway and recommend mitigation strategies, as applicable. The project recommendations that come from this study will be developed into funding applications for VDOT's SMART SCALE program and other transportation funding programs.
This Phase 2 survey is intended to obtain public input on the alternatives under consideration to address the issues that were identified by the study team.
