Uplifting Voices: The Black Women’s Experience at King County

Welcome to the Black Women’s Experience Project at King County!

This initiative, highlighted by a new report, is dedicated to amplifying the experiences and perspectives of Black and African women employees and shedding light on their unique challenges and triumphs within our government.

Rooted in extensive data and personal testimonies, this project uncovers the systemic disparities and inequities these women face. By highlighting these issues and providing actionable recommendations, we aim to cultivate a workplace culture that is equitable, inclusive, and supportive of all employees.

We invite you to participate in this transformative journey. Your engagement and action are pivotal in driving the change we seek. Together, we can create a workplace where everyone is valued and supported. Whether you are an employee, a community member, or an equity practitioner, your effort is essential. We encourage you to explore the site, join the conversation, and share this work.
