Route 33 and Route 678 (Centerville Road) Intersection Improvement
Route 33 and Route 678 (Centerville Road) Intersection Improvement
Project Overview
This project would improve the intersection of Route 33 (Lewis B. Puller Memorial Highway) and Route 678 (Centerville Road) in King and Queen County.
The crossover intersection would be converted to a restricted crossing U-turn (RCUT) intersection.
Through movements and left turns out from Centerville Road and a private commercial entrance at the Route 33 intersection would be prohibited as a safety enhancement to reduce the number of locations where vehicles may collide in a crash. Side street traffic would first turn right and make a U-turn at a dedicated median opening to complete the desired movement. This project would also extend the existing right turn lane from Route 33 westbound onto Centerville Road.
