Description: Guide the role of transit in Alaska’s LRTP by identifying strategies that improve access, equity, mobility, and connectivity for urban and remote communities through flexible and innovative service models.

Primary Focus Areas:

Urban and rural transit services, including fixed-route, demand-response, and essential mobility in rural and remote areas.
Equitable access and specialized mobility, including paratransit, senior transportation, and services for transportation-disadvantaged populations, coordinated with human services.
Fleet, facilities, and system modernization, including replacement needs, electrification, and long-term operational readiness.
Sustainable funding and intermodal connectivity, supporting long-term service stability and seamless connections with other transportation modes.
