Project Information
Are you interested in increasing access to affordable housing in unincorporated King County?
King County is exploring how new and existing policy tools could help!
Join King County staff and partners for a series of virtual educational workshops on housing policy tools, including Multifamily Housing Tax Exemption (MFTE), inclusionary housing, and community preference. Learn how these tools work and, where they could be used in unincorporated King County, and share your perspective about how they support needs in your community. Each session will include plenty of time for questions.
Workshop Schedule:
Multifamily Housing Tax Exemption (MFTE): Thursday, May 7 | 5:00–6:00 PM
Inclusionary Housing: Tuesday, May 12 | 5:00–6:00 PM
Community Preference: Monday, May 18 | 5:00–6:00 PM
Workshop attendees will learn the basics of these three affordable housing policy tools and be better equipped to participate in future engagement opportunities as recommendations are developed for expanding these tools.
These workshops kick off the first phase of engagement as King County begins implementing housing actions from the 2024 Comprehensive Plan. This effort builds on previous community input, including engagement with the Comprehensive Plan Equity Work Group and with Skyway-West Hill and North Highline communities through the Anti-Displacement Strategies Report.
Register here to attend. Interpretation services may be available upon request. For questions, contact housing@kingcounty.gov.
