Charles R. Curtis Memorial Park Redevelopment Project
Charles R. Curtis Memorial Park Redevelopment Project
Project Background
Charles R. Curtis Memorial Park is a public park located on the western side of the Bridge Street Neck Neighborhood in Salem. It is approximately .619 acres, and part of the Bridge Street Neck community. The Carleton Innovation School utilizes this park as a school playground, and it sees regular use by students and faculty for recess, PE classes and after-school activities.
The redevelopment or Curtis Park focuses on making open spaces more inviting, expanding access to recreation opportunities, focusing on underserved populations, and exploring ways to create climate resilient parks. This project aims to improve the playground and field areas of the park, through new play structures and an updated playing field space.
