Housing Needs Assessment and Balanced Housing Plan
Housing Needs Assessment and Balanced Housing Plan
Adams County is working on a Housing Needs Assessment (HNA) to understand the range of housing needs in the county. Based on those needs, the County will create a Balanced Housing Plan (BHP) to guide housing strategies. Below is a short survey which asks a few key questions regarding your experience with housing challenges and options in the county.
Adams County is the youngest county in the Denver region and growing quickly. The State Demography Office expects it will continue to grow, with the need to house 45% more households by 2050. The County recognizes that current and future residents face housing challenges. That is why it is important now to understand and address housing needs.
The Housing Needs Assessment aims to understand the range of housing needs in Adams County. Based on those needs, the Balanced Housing Plan will be an implementation tool for housing strategies. The BHP will include new strategies and align with those in the 2022 Advancing Adams Comprehensive Plan. It will also consider other state and regional housing initiatives and plans.
Together, the HNA and BHP will help recognize housing needs and make choices about housing policies.
