Circulation
Haddonfield has benefitted from transit-oriented development due to the proximity of the PATCO station so close to downtown. However, most residents use their vehicles as their primary means of transportation. Despite proximity to the New Jersey Turnpike, Interstate 95, and State Route 70, Haddonfield is primarily comprised of local or collector roads. Even Haddonfield’s main thoroughfares are relatively low-speed and low-volume, and are generally limited to a single lane in either direction.
Development in neighboring communities has increased traffic within the Borough, increasing congestion on Borough streets and creating unsafe conditions for pedestrians and bicyclists.
Please visit the Haddonfield 2024 Master Plan homepage for more information on this focus area and the larger Master Plan process.
We have heard anecdotal evidence that traffic is increasing on Borough streets. We want to learn more about changes in traffic volume. We plan to use travel flow data provided by Replica to show the travel patterns of drivers traveling within the Borough, as well as commuting data for Borough residents, workers, and visitors.
