Background

This Project Pipeline study focuses on concepts targeting identified needs including capacity preservation, safety improvement, pedestrian and bicycle infrastructure, transit access, and travel demand management for approximately 1.3 miles of Chamberlayne Road (US Route 301) in Hanover County. The project area includes one segment identified with VTrans Priority 2 District needs and two potential Safety Improvement (PSI) intersections.

This Phase 2 survey is intended to obtain public input on the alternatives under consideration to address the issues that were identified by the study team and through the Phase 1 survey conducted in August 2023. In general, respondents to the Phase 1 survey identified the following as their primary considerations for the study corridor need: corridor and intersection safety, preserving and enhancing capacity, and managing transportation demand.
