Study Description
VDOT is considering potential safety and operational improvements along Route 220 between the North Carolina state line and Route 58. The purpose of this survey is to understand current corridor concerns and to solicit feedback on the potential solutions. This study considers safety and operational improvements for approximately 6.5 miles of Route 220.
The improvements are separated into two sections.
- In the first section, between the North Carolina state line and Route 87, considerations include reconstructing and straightening the southbound lanes of Route 220 and modifying crossover locations.
- In the second section, between Route 87 and Route 58, considerations include implementing innovative intersection designs and modifying access along Route 220 to improve safety and traffic flow.
Your input is very important to us! Thank you for taking the time to share your thoughts.
