Background

The focus of this study is to assess key areas of Port Republic Road from Forest Hill Road to Bluestone Drive at the I-81 Exit 245 interchange, including the I-81 southbound off ramp and the intersection of Port Republic Road and Forest Hill Road. Port Republic Road has locations in need of safety improvement, as well as identified operational issues during peak hour periods. This corridor also has barriers for heavy use by bicyclists and pedestrians destined for James Madison University and the multiple transit routes nearby.

This survey is intended to obtain public input on the alternatives under consideration to address the issues that were identified by the study team.
