Rosser Ave. (Route 340) Transportation Survey
Rosser Ave. (Route 340) Transportation Survey
This study will focus on developing recommendations to address safety, operations, and multimodal needs on U.S. Route 340 (P Buckley Moss Drive/Rosser Avenue) between Grandview Drive and Northgate Avenue. This corridor includes several crash hot spots, the most notable of which is the intersection of Rosser Avenue/Lew Dewitt Boulevard/Windigrove Drive. The corridor also has barriers to use for people biking and walking to destinations such as nearby activity centers and the transit connections used for travel throughout the city and beyond, each of which will be considered. The study is intended to assess mid-term to long-term challenges and opportunities and will identify project recommendations that can be advanced for federal, state, and local funding opportunities.
This brief survey will provide the study team with valuable context on existing transportation issues in the corridor so that they can be analyzed and addressed in the study.
Project Pipeline is a performance-based planning program to identify cost-effective solutions to multimodal transportation needs in Virginia. Through this planning process, projects and solutions may be considered for funding through programs, including SMART SCALE, revenue sharing, interstate funding and others.
