Project Pipeline is a performance-based planning program to identify cost-effective solutions to multimodal transportation needs in Virginia. This is a planning level study. The proposed roadway modifications in this survey are not final and have not received funding for construction. Through this planning process, projects and solutions may be considered for funding through programs, including SMART SCALE, revenue sharing, interstate funding and others.

Background

The purpose of this study is to identify project recommendations for the segment of U.S. Route 522 (N. Frederick Pike) from Red Oak Road to Echo Lane west of Route 37 in Frederick County. The intent of this study is to improve safety in the corridor. The project recommendations that come from this study will be developed into funding applications for VDOT's SMART SCALE program and other transportation funding programs.

This survey is intended to obtain public input on the alternatives under consideration.
