Upgrades at SR‑198 and 12000 South added protected left turns, realigned lanes, and reduced congestion, improving safety and creating smoother, more efficient travel.

Project Overview

The SR-198 and 12000 South Intersection Improvement Project will add protected left-turn pockets from SR-198 (State Street) to 12000 South, and also aligned the lanes along 12000 South across the intersection near Payson. The goal of this project was to enhance safety and traffic flow at this intersection.

Work hours: 7 a.m. - 5 p.m.

Workdays: Monday - Friday

Schedules are subject to change due to weather and material availability.

Anticipated construction timeline:

  • 9/8/26: Mill/pave
  • 9/9/26-9/11/26: Anticipated shouldering
  • 9/12/26-9/13/26: Anticipated microsurfacing (*Saturday and Sunday)
