Route 3 and Route 198 Roundabout, Mathews
Find out about a proposed project to improve safety and traffic operations at the intersection of Route 3 (Twiggs Ferry Road) and Route 198 (Buckley Hall Road) in Mathews County by constructing a single-lane roundabout.
The project is fully funded through Virginia's SMART SCALE transportation program. The Mathews County Board of Supervisors submitted an application to the SMART SCALE program in 2022 to seek funding for this project. The Commonwealth Transportation Board voted in June 2023 to include this project in Virginia’s Six-Year Improvement Program for Fiscal Years 2024-2029.
