We know county government can be difficult to understand and navigate. Are you interested in learning how it works and sharing what you know about your community in order to improve King County resources in your area? As a member of one of the Community Advisory Groups, you will learn who we are, what we do, the services we provide, how we help, and how to share your ideas for new and existing county services and resources.

Why should you be involved?

  • Your Voice Matters: Help us identify your community’s top needs.
  • Connect with Community: Engage with fellow members and share your new knowledge with others to make positive change.
  • Learn and Grow: Learn how your local government works, what different departments do, and how you can participate.

In discussions with county staff, the Advisory Group will learn about the county's budget process and what the county does. Through regularly scheduled meetings, members will work collaboratively with Department of Local Services staff, and staff from other departments, to learn about the county and share their ideas on various projects to improve county services and resources in their areas.

The group’s name reflects its purpose to make a positive impact on community through learning, civic engagement, collaboration, and innovation.

This concept was successfully tried with the Snoqualmie Valley/Northeast King County community earlier in 2024 and that group has been extended. Lessons-learned will be incorporated as we move forward with this program.
