STARS US 29 Study Alternatives - Arlington
The study corridor of US Route 29 (Langston Boulevard) from North Veitch Street to North Lynn Street in Arlington County is known to serve particularly high volumes of non-motorized traffic (pedestrians, bicycles, scooters etc.) as well as transit riders. The goal of this project is to reconfigure the study corridor in ways that will improve access and safety for non-motorized traffic while ensuring that these improvements will not cause major impacts to vehicular operations.
The study team has identified a set of preliminary improvement concepts to address the identified concerns. These improvements are displayed in the following six (6) conceptual sketches, primarily focused on intersections that were prioritized based on observed safety and/or operational needs.
