Project Overview
N.C. Department of Transportation proposes to improve intersections at U.S. 74 and U.S. 601 South adding turn lanes and installing concrete islands for traffic channelization to increase traffic operations and reduce congestion to the traveling public in Monroe, Union County. The purpose of the project is to improve the traffic carrying capacity of the U.S. 601 corridor in the project area. Additionally, the proposed project is intended to improve the transportation network in the study area to benefit regional mobility and connectivity.
