What is the CTP 2050 Pathways?

The California Transportation Plan (CTP) outlines a vision for the future transportation system, establishes statewide priorities, and acts as a roadmap for Caltrans and its partner agencies to implement these recommendations. Because the CTP defines pathways to make progress on California’s many goals over the plan horizon, it is called 2050 Pathways. Although it is a statewide plan, the CTP recognizes and is sensitive to the unique transportation needs and interests of California’s urban, suburban, rural, and Tribal communities. Once finalized, it will be Caltrans' plan for future modal and regional plan development, and it should be used to support cross-agency collaboration to achieve shared goals. In this CTP, California identifies key challenges facing California and proposes a variety of policy decisions that should be considered to address these challenges.

Provide Feedback on the Draft Plan

Caltrans invites the public, stakeholders, and all interested individuals to review the Draft CTP 2050 Pathways and provide input. 

Please provide comments to the Draft 2050 CTP Pathways no later than September 17, 2026.
