Route 164 Corridor Study
Route 164 Corridor Study
The purpose of this study is to analyze the roadway functions and safety issues along the Route 164 corridor from the interchange with Towne Point Road to the interchange with Route 58, just east of the bridge over the Western Branch of the Elizabeth River. This corridor has seen an increase in truck usage and as anticipated growth continues in the area, capacity and safety are priority focus areas. The results of this study will help to identify and propose short- and long-term improvements that can be incorporated into the Virginia Department of Transportation’s Six-Year Improvement Program (SYIP).
