Ketchikan Viaducts Rehabilitation Project (Grant Overview)
Application to the Bridge Investment Program (BIP) Bridge Project
This project will fund rehabilitation efforts for the Water Street and Tongass Avenue Viaducts in Ketchikan to prolong the life of the facilities until funding to replace to structures is available. The project will reduce bridge area and refurbish the remaining bridge deck until it can be replaced. It will also significantly reduce extraordinary maintenance costs.
Water Street Viaduct is currently rated in poor condition, and Tongass Avenue Viaduct is rated in fair condition and is at risk of falling into poor condition. Load posting is expected if no repairs are made. The waterfront is the heart and soul of the Ketchikan community, and the community relies on this critical infrastructure.

- Federal Funding Request: $41,840,000
