Study Objectives and Benefits

  • Identify future traffic demand and vehicular travel patterns.
  • Identify deficiencies in roadway capacity, traffic operational efficiency, and traffic safety.
  • Develop solutions that improve capacity, operational, or safety deficiencies for vehicles while considering pedestrian, bicycle, and public transit needs.
  • Refine the future roadway network presented in current Goochland County planning documents.
  • Provide actionable guidance to decision-makers including measures of effectiveness illustrating analysis outcomes and benefits of implementing the future roadway network defined by this study.

Study Location

Location of West Creek Area Transportation Access Plan Study area bounded by I-64 to the north, West Creek Parkway to the south, Hockett Road (Route 623) to the west, and the Goochland/Henrico County line to the east.
