West Duwamish Wet Weather Storage: Pre-Construction Survey
West Duwamish Wet Weather Storage: Pre-Construction Survey
Share your input to help King County Wastewater Treatment Division prepare for construction!
King County expects to begin construction for the West Duwamish Wet Weather Storage project this year. Construction will last up to three years. Thank you to all the community members who provided input during the project design process.
This project will build a 1.25-million-gallon underground storage tank near the intersection of Southwest Michigan Street and Second Avenue Southwest. This facility is intended to reduce overflows and prevent pollution from entering the Duwamish River. During heavy rainstorms, the tank will temporarily hold sewage and polluted stormwater until it can be sent to West Point Treatment Plant to be cleaned and safely released into Puget Sound.
King County’s goal is to complete construction efficiently to minimize disruptions to the community as much as possible. The information from this survey will help construction crews work with neighbors and commuters directly impacted by this project.
This survey will be available online until February 28. All survey questions are optional.
King County is committed to minimizing disruptions caused by construction, as much as possible. Answer the questions below to share any needs we should consider while planning for construction.
