Wilmington Downtown Trail Feasibility Study
Wilmington Downtown Trail Feasibility Study
The Wilmington Urban Area Metropolitan Planning Organization (WMPO) is partnering with the North Carolina Department of Transportation Integrated Mobility Division (NCDOT IMD) to conduct a feasibility study for Phases 2 and 3 of the Wilmington Downtown Trail in the City of Wilmington. The trail will connect downtown Wilmington to parks, schools, neighborhoods, and shopping east of downtown. The Wilmington Downtown Trail was identified in the 2013 Wilmington/ New Hanover County Greenway Plan as the number one project recommendation. The purpose of this study is to provide a recommended alignment for a trail that will follow the Burnt Mill Creek corridor.
The purpose of this survey is to learn where you would like to see the trail developed. The limits of the feasibility study are from Archie Blue Park/Love Grove Memorial Bridge at the north to Forest Hills Drive near Forest Hills Global Elementary on the south end, for a total length of approximately 2 miles. This project is Phases 2 and 3 of the Wilmington Downtown Trail and connects to the Phase 1 project (currently being planned) connecting 3rd Street to Archie Blue Park.
You will be presented with four focus areas along the trail corridor and will be able to provide feedback on trail alignment options.
We appreciate you taking a moment to complete this quick survey to share your thoughts on the trail.
