Please keep the kiddie pool. It provides many more long-term benefits than a splash pad. Glad to see the idea of a climbing wall has disappeared from both concepts. A climbing wall has nothing to do with water sports.

Please maintain or add shade.

Concept A keeps the maximum swimming water play options with main pool and kiddie pool. Very important to also: maintain all existing trees for maximum shade; continue to aerate the pool to keep the water cool; and to add another foot of depth to the south half of the pool to allow for water polo practice and competition.

Would like some changes: (a) both concepts should have stairs or zero-depth entry. (b) AERATION is not optional; must be aerated or have refrigerated water; (c) both concepts need covered changing rooms (gap between wall and ceiling for ventilation; (d) I understand this is mandatory anyway but water heaters for showers, preferably instant heaters (e) if possible, a permanently installed refrigerator for the guard shack; (f) restore access to the outside restrooms, could be family rooms.

kiddie pools helped get my kid comfortable being fully in water, much better than splash pads...

3. What do you like most about Concept A?
The kiddie pool is almost a must for families. Splash pads are fun for kids, but most kids age out of them pretty early on.

As a parent, when my son was a baby/toddler I appreciated being able to swim with him in this kiddie pool section. I found it to be much more valuable than a splash pad.

I think that the larger kiddie pool with beach entrance is a great update, while maintaining the shape and depth of the main pool.

Kiddie pool, zero depth entry on both

Larger kiddie pool. I’ve been to pools with splash pads and NEVER see kids using them when there is a kiddie pool or slides in the shallow area.

4. What do you like most about Concept B?
I like that the food truck is tucked away under the trees.

Not really a fan

Nothing

Not much. The splash pad is a lawsuit waiting to happen. No food trucks are needed in either concept

Food truck accessible from inside the pool.

5. What, if anything, is missing from the concepts?
Please work on making this a year-round pool that can be used for local swim teams & water polo teams. We are missing out on great fundraising opportunities by not giving this serious consideration. Meets make money.

There's nothing wrong with the NW Pool as it is today. This does not seem a good use of funds, except for modernization of equipment. Put the splash pad in the expansive playground area, if you need it. And keep the pool area dedicated to swimming.

Guard shack should be climate-controlled, AERATION, back stroke flags, shading over the pool

lockers for belongings

Agree with investing to make this a year-round pool! Invest in infrastructure improvements -- perhaps including some heating for winter? -- vs redesign. City swim teams need more centrally located facilities, there's opportunity for community investment here.
