A new King County Park is coming to South King County. Temporarily named Lakeland North Urban Nature Park, this new 20-acre park is located between Auburn and Federal Way in a narrow piece of Unincorporated King County. (view location in Google Maps).

Phase 3 - Spring 2026

In spring 2026 a new proposed park plan will be shared for public input.

Phase 2 - Present Concept Designs 2024

We will take input provided in Phase 1 and develop a series of different concept plans that will show various ways the park could be built in terms of trails, playground, shelters, and other park features.

King County will ask for public feedback and preferences on the different concept plans via in person/virtual events and an online survey.

Phase 1 - Introductions and Listening 2023

King County is introducing this new park property to neighbors and community organizations. We are listening for what community priorities are for the new park via in person/virtual meetings and an online survey. We will learn the type of experiences you want in the park, and any concerns or challenges you want us to be aware of.

Construction is anticipated to begin as early as 2027
