Welcome to the online open house for the Pacific Right Bank Flood Protection Project.

The King County Flood Control District and its service provider, King County, are proposing to build a flood protection facility in the City of Pacific. The goal of the project is to substantially reduce flooding in the City of Pacific and improve environmental conditions along this section of the White River. King County has prepared a Draft Environmental Impact Statement (Draft EIS) analyzing the impacts and benefits five project alternatives.

Project Overview – An outline of the need for this project and the process for developing an Environmental Impact Statement (EIS) to evaluate how the project would affect the environment. The EIS will be used by the King County Flood Control District to choose the project alternative.

Project Details – Introduces the five project design alternatives being considered, as well as dumpsite clean-up options. It also includes renderings of the proposed flood protection features.

Project Timeline

  • 2014: Begin analysis of dumpsite characteristics
  • 2017-2025: Conduct environmental review process (SEPA)
  • 2025-2026: Ongoing project design and permitting
  • 2028-2031: Anticipated construction (depending on the alternative selected)
