Powhite Parkway Study
Powhite Parkway Study
The Powhite Parkway Study (the study) is being conducted by the Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT), in coordination with the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA), to evaluate the potential extension of Powhite Parkway from Woolridge Road to Route 360 (Hull Street Road). The study will evaluate multiple alternatives to address transportation needs in the area to identify a logical and feasible location for the project improvements.
The preliminary Study Area is generally bound by Route 288 (World War II Veterans Memorial Highway) to the east, Route 360 (Hull Street Road) to the south, Route 60 (Midlothian Turnpike) to the north, and Moseley Road to the west. As the environmental review process advances, the specific limits of the study will be determined and refined.
The study will comply with the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA). NEPA is applicable when a federal action or federal funding occurs. At the conclusion of the NEPA process (see schedule below), VDOT and Chesterfield County will have FWHA’s approval to advance with this locally funded project which is part of a larger collection of independent projects the County is advancing in the area.
