Project Overview

The Utah Department of Transportation (UDOT) has transitioned the I-15 Santaquin to Payson project from the environmental phase into project delivery.

This project plans to widen I-15 to three lanes in each direction from south of Santaquin to Payson and reconstruct the I-15 Santaquin Main Street Interchange, including improvements to nearby Santaquin roads (see Santaquin Main Street Reconfiguration Map on the map tab), to improve traffic operations and safety, increase capacity, and enhance community connections. When finished, I-15 will have three travel lanes in each direction from Spanish Fork to northern Juab County.

This project is utilizing the Design-Build process, which leads to faster project delivery, greater flexibility, and is a better value for state funds. See the “What is Design-Build?” tab for more on this process.

UDOT preliminary design and fieldwork are actively underway, and construction is anticipated to begin as early as summer 2027. See the project timeline underneath the project map for more details.

Project Timeline
