In your opinion, do the proposed design concepts address safety and enhanced connectivity for pedestrians and cyclists?
79% Yes
21% No
73 respondents
On Trawick Road where the middle lane is for turning, a lot of people are using this middle lane for passing slower moving traffic - cars obeying the speed limit. Because of more traffic using Marsh Creek, cars entering Marsh Creek from a side street will find it more difficult to turn on Marsh Creek, especially to make a left turn.

Given that the main pedestrian traffic on Marsh Creek are generally senior citizens and children walking to elementary school the crosswalks will need electronic devices to warn traffic to stop when crossing with flashing lights at night and strobe lights for daytime at strategic locations. Traffic today is too fast for safe crossing for these two segments of population. Less expensive to build that infrastructure in with initial design than come back later. If that could be considered it will go a long way to ensure safe crossing for our most vulnerable population.

For pedestrians, street signage & markings on pavement are needed to allow for access to the opposite sides of the road in more than one space

In design 1- there’s no crosswalks to get across marsh creek road except at new hope. There needs to be at least 1, preferably near the school.
In design 2- the roundabout will not work in this area. I like the idea, but if you see the drivers in that intersection, they can barely handle a yield right now. Crosswalks there will be dangerous.

No, crosswalks. No safe way to cross the street. Especially near bus stops.

Please provide any addition comments related to the project.
Create a two-lane option for Marsh Creek like the two-lane option provided for Trawick. Neither a median or a turn lane is needed. The median divided option will prevent many homeowners from being able to make both rights and lefts into their homes or onto their streets. A three-lane section widens the road unnecessarily and will encourage more traffic.

Focus your attention on major artery roads like Skycrest and Buffalo. Making it easier for traffic to pass through Marsh Creek / Trawick will inherently encourage more traffic, which isn't appropriate for this road, which has a definite residential feel to it.

Add pedestrian lights and speed bumps by the school, and lower the speed limit near the school.

3 separate bus stops aren't needed. People rarely use those stops anyway. Just have 1 bus stop, probably by the school.

Not fond of round abouts

I think there is one potential missed safety area- the intersection at Broadlands and Trawick.

Low speed area is a must, especially as with improvements, more will walk and ride. 45 mph is too high for this area with housing developments on both sides. A traffic light at Broadlands and Trawick, will be needed soon! Getting out of this neighborhood at peak traffic hours is getting more difficult.

I support options that slow the speed of drivers and make it safer for drivers and pedestrians.
