Wake BRT Rapid Bus Extensions Study
Wake BRT Rapid Bus Extensions Study
Western and Southern Rapid Bus Corridor Extensions
This study came to a close in early 2023. The Capital Area Metropolitan Planning Organization (CAMPO) conducted the Wake BRT: Rapid Bus Extensions Study to identify and evaluate rapid bus routing options and to select preferred solutions for rapid bus extensions that will build upon the planned Wake Bus Rapid Transit (BRT): Western and Southern Corridors.
- The planned Wake BRT: Southern Corridor will connect downtown Raleigh to the Garner Station area near the US 401/US 70 interchange. The Southern Corridor extension study area spans from the route's current endpoint in Garner to south of Clayton primarily following the US 70 corridor.
- The planned Wake BRT: Western Corridor will connect downtown Raleigh to downtown Cary. The Western Corridor extension would build onto that route by extending service out to Research Triangle Park (RTP). The study area is bordered by NC 55 to the west, I-40 to the north and east, and Cary Parkway to the south.
